The Marketleap Report
Volume II, Issue #15, September 18, 2002

Where You Been Boy?
Rotating Around the Sun in Real-Time

By Keith Boswell

Every birthday I remind myself that I've traveled one trip around one sun in a never-ending galaxy of cosmic soup. Life seems simple and slow. And then a month goes by like soft butter melting into hot toast.

The winds that fill my sails have been driving other trade routes as of late. Marketleap has been actively updating our corporate message, website, and tools to ensure we keep pace with the ever-evolving web.

This newsletter is but a part of the voice of an organization maintained from multiple points across the United States in a virtual world, held together by phone, chat, and email to move as we choose.

It's exhilarating when I see how different each day unfolds. Clients always come first, but in the cracks in between there is always something beckoning me to do more. Sometimes it's the newsletter, or a proposal, or a piece of PR, or my favorite - the conversations.

Conversations where we try to define for ourselves and for our clients the real value and benefits of the services that we offer. It's difficult without sounding like a cliche. So many businesses describe themselves in similar terms and phrases, separated only by their unique acronym.

At some point language breaks down and you just say it simply. Writing for the web is so different from trying to tell a story. The web has depth where it needs it. It sets up a story and fills you in at points where you'll have questions. The web is built to keep you moving along to action.

Much of the impetus for us to update our messaging is the emergence of technologies and trends that improve how we do business. The growth of paid inclusion programs, XML data feeds, and the number of clients looking for professional search engine marketing firms makes keeping an active voice in the community essential.

We're proud of what we've accomplished so we've come to all of you. I'll be back next week with a regular edition of the Marketleap Report with a new topic and the feedback from the last article.

Until then we ask you go to our new website at www.marketleap.com. Tell us what you think by sending email to report@marketleap.com. Thanks.
